Gertie Ann Richardson March 22, 1946 – June 13, 2025 Lamar, South Carolina Gertie Ann Richardson, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Darlington, South Carolina, at the age of 79. Her joyful spirit, warm heart, and deep love for her family left an imprint on all who knew her. Born on March 22, 1946, Gertie had a deep appreciation for the beauty in life—especially angels and hummingbirds, which reflected her gentle nature. She was talented in sewing and loved to cook and bake for her family, always filling her home with comfort, care, and the aroma of something delicious. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the ones she loved most. Gertie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen Richardson. She is survived by her devoted children: Vonda K. Smith (Roy Amerson) Jimmy Richardson Linda Green (David Green) David Richardson Her treasured grandchildren: Samantha McLeod ( JJ McLeod) Tiffany Shriver (Bryan Shriver) Lydia Eldrige (Michael Eldrige) Noah Green (Monika Green) Jeremy Richardson Josh Richardson Zeb Richardson Daphne Richardson Dalton Richardson Her beloved great-grandchildren: Mason Shriver Sydney Shriver Maddox Shriver Ethan McLeod Elviera Eldrige She is also survived by her loving siblings: Bernice Spruill Lossie Evans Robbie Tilton Gertie shared a special bond with many others who were like family to her, including Pamela Amerson, Tammy Rheuark, Randy Freeman, Tabitha Gilbert, Crystal Amerson, and Missy Richardson. A memorial viewing will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. A celebration of Gertie's life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Souls Chapel Cemetery in Marion County. Gertie Ann Richardson lived a life marked by generosity, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Though her passing was sudden, her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, and she will forever remain in our hearts.
