Zaria James

Zaria Alexandria James was born July 13,1998 in Florence, South Carolina to Tara Christa’ Durant and Cornell Kimba James. She passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Zaria enjoyed beautiful hair and beating faces as she would say, and had huge aspirations of becoming a makeup artist but her dreams were temporarily put on hold so she could be there for her wonderful son, Zayden. Zaria prided herself on her beautiful artwork and was seldomly seen without looking her absolute best. Zaria attended elementary school in Florence, South Carolina. She then attended middle school and high school in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she earned her High School Diploma at Carolina Forest High School. Zaria briefly lived in Miami, Florida and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina but felt home is where her heart was in the beautiful City of Florence, South Carolina close to her family and dear friends. Zaria was preceded in death by two uncles; Anthony Gregory Durant and Booker Timothy Durant, III. Zaria met Josh Gainey, her soulmate in 2018. A year later they created and brought into this world their beautiful son, Zayden Karter Gainey. Zayden was her absolute pride and joy, wherever they were he would be there as well. She dedicated her life to Josh and Zayden making sure they were loved and cared for dearly. As a team, she and Josh made sure to always put Zayden’s needs before their own. Zaria began her workforce at Broadway at the Beach’s Hollywood Heroes & Villains in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, fulfilling several entities in between but ended at Harris Teeter in Florence, South Carolina. Zaria leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Tara Christa’ Durant; father, Cornell Kimba James (Kita); soulmate, Josh Dale Gainey; son, Zayden Karter Gainey; three brothers, Eddie Frye Jr, Chace Durant-Asbury and Cornell “KJ” James Jr; two sisters, Cori James and Nyjah Asbury; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Margie B Durant and Booker T. Jr (Helen) Durant; paternal grandmother, Sarah Elaine James; six aunts to include three devoted aunts, Tammie B. Durant, Sabrina James and Patrice Jones; Two cousins like brothers, Tre’vias Durant and Noah Durant; a loving person whom she called mother in law, Tracey Johnson; special cousins, Abria Newton and Nakia Newton; special friends, Kayla, Lakendra, Mariah, Jaden, Tyreauna and Casma; several great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Faith Memorial Gardens, 653 Rogers Road, Darlington.
