Florence, South Carolina Betty Jordan Jackson, 90, of Florence passed away on Tuesday June 28, 2022, at the family farm surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends at other times at the farm of Cynthia and Kenny Locklair, Serenity Acres 1510 Center Road Timmonsville, SC. Betty was born in Rock Hill, SC. She was the daughter of the late Ross Lee Jordan and Pearline Clark Jordan. She graduated from Rock Hill High School, after finishing Winthrop University, she went to Washington, DC and worked with the FBI, under J. Edgar Hoover. She belonged to the Florence Garden Club, Optimistic Club & a handful of others throughout her lifetime. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Florence. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. After finishing a career in Washington, DC she started a family with the Love of her life; her husband of 57 years, Gerald D. Jackson Sr. Betty was a homemaker in the home. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Gerald D. Jackson Sr., a son, Gerald D. (Jerry) Jackson, Jr., a son-in-law, Maynard B. Reid, and a brother-in-law, Herbert Phillips Worth Jr. Surviving are her children. Daughters, Sandra Lynn Reid of Asheboro, NC; Tamara Leigh (Timmy) Hussey, of Asheboro, NC; Cynthia Renee (Kenny) Locklair of Darlington, SC; a son, Michael Ross (Melanie) Jackson, of Greensboro, NC. She had 10 grandchildren. Lane Jackson, of Florence, SC, Luke (Natalie) Jackson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lindsey (Travis) Cook of Charleston, SC; Chris Hussey, Madison Hussey, of Asheboro, NC, Ashley (Tom) Gaddy, of Liberty, NC; Nick Jackson, of Greensboro, NC; Rayf Kirven, Reagan Kirven, Reid Kirven, of Florence, SC. She had 4 Great-grandchildren. Carson Gaddy of Liberty, NC; Paisley Jackson, of Florence, SC; Lilly Cook, Sawyer Cook of Charleston, SC. Her brother, William "Bill" (Carol) Jordan of Chapin. Her sister, Doris Worth of Murrells Inlet. A host of nieces and nephews. A Heart that has been broken, is a Heart that has been loved, and grief is a reflection of that. Betty loved her family and enjoyed family times together. She left an impression on all that knew her. Memorial service and Graveside will be held, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 2 PM @ the National Cemetery in Florence. The family is forever grateful to the McLeod Hospice staff for the care and comfort provided for their Mother during this time.
