Cecil N. Weatherford

June 17, 1944 - August 23, 2020

Cecil Norman Weatherford, 76, died Sunday, August 23, 2020. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 2 PM in the Chapel at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the funeral home from 6 PM until 8 PM. Mr. Weatherford was born in Darlington County. He was the son of the late Benny and Earline Purvis Weatherford. He worked for many years and retired from Nucor Steel. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. Weatherford was a family man. He enjoyed being around his children and his grandchildren. Recently he met his first great-granddaughter, Whitley. His favorite place to be was his daughter Shannon's shop. He was technically the "maintenance man", but he really just liked being there with her. He enjoyed riding around with his best friend, and brother in law, Ed Lewis. The two of them loved old cars and could be seen many days riding through town in one of their Model A's. Cecil loved racing and very seldom missed watching the race on Sunday. He also enjoyed old westerns. Surviving are his daughter, Shannon Weatherford Pickens and husband, Brian; one son, Scottie Weatherford and wife Lacie, his grandchildren, Blair Weatherford and husband, Jerry, Baker Pickens (William Stokes), Destiny Pickens, Jacob Weatherford, Ryanne Weatherford, Paisley Weatherford; his great granddaughter, Whitley Weatherford; two sisters, Iona Morse and Joanne Lyons; his brothers in law, Edward "Ed" Lewis; his nephews, Tommy Weatherford, and David Reddick. He is predeceased by his brothers, Benny, Roy, Eli, Thomas, and Willie, and his sisters, Ruth Odom, Joyce McInville, Mildred Lewis, Mary Francis McQueen, and Lois Reddick. If you would like to honor him, the family suggest either flowers, a contribution to McLeod Hospice (555 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29501) , or you can leave your contribution in his memory with your waitress after you eat breakfast. It was his favorite meal of the day.
