Rev. Rickey Hartsoe
January 13, 2022
Through sadness and rejoicing the family of Bishop Rickey Withers Hartsoe Sr. report his entrance to heaven at 10:26 a.m. January 13, 2022. Bishop Hartsoe was born in York S.C. on June 9, 1959 to his parents North and Beatrice Hartsoe. Raised in Clover S.C. where he was well known by many for managing the local grocery store and later sharing his love of building with his hands in the town’s hardware store. While being an amazing daddy to his children, an “always there” Paw-Paw to his grandchildren, and a faithful loving husband to his wife; Rickey’s greatest impact on this world may have been through the innate desire to tell everyone he met about his Jesus. Faithfully serving God for over 26 years of pastoral ministry, having accepted God’s calling in 1996, Rickey pastored Bamberg Church of God, Huggin Oak Church of God, Society Hill Church of God, Coward Church of God, and at the time of his passing Mullins Church of God. As a pastor Rickey continued his love for building both physically with those blessed hands (that his children will forever remember so vividly) and spiritually with his loving tender heart (that lead so many to the Lord), as he left each assignment God gave him better than he found it. While we are crushed on earth with his passing, Rickey was met at those beautiful pearly gates with much jubilation by his momma, Beatrice Lee Hartsoe and his mother-in-law, Helen Ogle Parker. Rickey, known to those closest him as “Ole Slick Rick” will be greatly missed here on earth by his wife, Sherrie (the love of his life and apple of his eye), his children Rick Jr. and wife Heather, Cindy Nolan and husband Brandon, grandchildren Gage, Bailey, McKenzi, and Clayton, his sister Debbie LaFollette and husband John, along with numerous other family members and brothers and sisters in Christ. “His Lord said to him well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:23 Rickey’s family invites you to join in their celebration of his life on Friday, February 4th at Mullins Church of God. A 12:00 visitation will precede the funeral, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. (Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home in Darlington S.C. will be overseeing the services)
