Darlington, SC Thelma Louise Salada Wall, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Spartanburg, SC, the daughter of Lydia Little Salada Nesmith and Frank Edward Salada. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Wall Geries, Frances Wall (Grady) Weaver, grandchildren Lezlie Weaver (Gil Cagle), Sidney Russell Geries, Mary Helen Geries, great grandson Everett Weatherford Cagle (Rhett), nephew Jodi (Rosie) Smith, great-nephew Hampton Smith, nephew Dennis Wall, great-niece Sarah Wall (Micha) Peppers, goddaughter Susan Langston Timmons and special friends Jean and Barney Gooden. Thelma was predeceased by her husband USMC Technical Sergeant Frank Trimual Wall, sister Betty Jo Salada Smith, brother-in-law Claud Smith, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Calvin Wall. Thelma was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington, SC since 1958. She commited her life to the service of others including volunteer work at her church, McLeod Hospice, The Lord Cares. She was well known for providing food for neighbors, shut-ins, and nursing homes. She was employed by Florence and Darlington County Treasurers offices. A special thank you is extended to Morningside Assisted Living of Hartsville, SC staff and residents for the love and care demonstrated on a daily basis. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 3 PM in Trinity United Methodist Church. A private burial will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Florence National Cemetery, directed by Kistler Hardee Funeral Home of Darlington. The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday, June 18, 2017 in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church of Darlington, Hospice of choice, or The Lord Cares.
