Regina "Gina" Lloyd Morris

Florence, South Carolina Regina “Gina” Lloyd Morris, 59, was born in Charleston, SC and made her home in Florence. She passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2022. Gina was born on October 2, 1962, to Darlene Lloyd and Henry Claydean Morris, II. She was adopted by her maternal grandparents, Mary Elizabeth Kirven Lloyd and Heyward Lloyd who raised her as their own. She was the youngest of 7 children in the Lloyd family and 2 younger brothers by her biological mother and father. She had 2 daughters of her own, Jennifer Desiree’ Holland Hilliard and Mary Elizabeth Holland “Mary Beth” and her husband, Keith Barker; her grandchildren, Kaylee Thomas, Madilyn Hilliard, Eden Hilliard, Jayden Dickerson, and Reagan Dickerson. Gina was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Stacey Morris “Stacey” and Tony Lloyd, Sr., as well as her oldest sister, Catherine Poston. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Lloyd Hodge and husband, Derman, Darlene Lloyd Housand, and brothers, “Dean” Henry Claydean Morris, III, Lary Lloyd and Marion Lloyd. She was one of the sweetest, most giving person anyone has ever met. She had a radiant smile that was infectious and that one dimple that she loved. She was a beautiful and vibrant young woman who enjoyed laborious work, yard work and a good bonfire. Her home was always open to anyone that needed a place to stay. She was not one to take any trash from anyone in her younger days, but the older she got, the softer she got. She took care of her mother, Mary Lloyd for many years and made sure that she reciprocated the unconditional love that mama Lloyd gave her throughout her life. She took care of her sister, Catherine after she was diagnosed with cancer and anyone else that needed care or a safe place. She took care of her grandchildren, to make sure Mary Beth, her baby girl made it through nursing school and always helped any way she could. She took pride in being capable of doing any of kind of work. She was physically strong and could outwork anyone she encountered when of working. She did everything from shutdown pipefitting, bartending, Construction, factory work, roofing and so much more. She had a heart of gold and helped a lot with raising her older daughter’s children in the later part of her life. She was a good Mema. She did not have the easiest life and somehow always learned things the hard way but took care of business and it made her a force to reckoned with. Family would like to thank Aunt Marilyn for being her shoulder to lean on and taking her to her doctor’s appointments. They would also like to thank their grandmother, Darlene for always having a place for their mother to lay her head down no matter the conditions. Please find peace in knowing that Gina was a saved soul and gave her heart to Christ many years ago. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Florence.
